Screen Recording Permission Help

Screen recording requires special permission from your browser and operating system. Here's how to enable it.

How Screen Recording Works

When you start a screen recording, your browser will show a dialog asking you to select what to share:

  • Entire Screen - Records everything on your screen
  • Window - Records a specific application window
  • Browser Tab - Records just a single browser tab

Enabling Screen Recording

Common Issues

"Screen recording blocked by system"

Screen appears black or empty

Some applications block screen recording for security reasons. Try:

  • Recording a different window or tab
  • Recording your entire screen instead of a specific window
  • Using a different browser

Recording cancelled

If you accidentally closed the screen picker without selecting anything:

  1. Click the retry button
  2. Select what you want to share
  3. Click Share to begin

Browser Compatibility

Screen recording works best in:

  • Chrome - Full support for screen, window, and tab recording
  • Edge - Full support for screen, window, and tab recording
  • Firefox - Supports screen and window recording
  • Safari - Supports screen recording (macOS system permission required)

Screen recording is not available on mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android).
